- conduct pre-departure checks
- use the features of a four-wheel drive vehicle to drive in a variety of terrain types
- use a single snatch strap to recover a vehicle
- conduct minor vehicle maintenance and repairs
- follow your obligations under state licensing and legislation requirements.
What you need to bring:
- Current driver licence
- 4WD vehicle
- Water, food, hat, covered shoes, sunglasses, sunscreen.

You will be enrolled in RIIVEH305F Operate and maintain a four-wheel drive vehicle. On successful completion of the course, you will receive a Statement of Attainment for the unit of competency. This unit is applicable for people who work in an operational role at worksites within the following industries:

- coal mining
- drilling
- extractive industries
- metalliferous mining.
This course is also highly recommended for those wanting to step into the world of 4WD off road in a supervised environment.
