Target Audience

This is an Advanced Diploma unit of competency, designed to support Managers responsible for the spontaneous combustion management system at their workplace.

Performance Training's RIIMCU601E Course provides you with the knowledge and skills required to develop a compliant Spontaneous Combustion Management Plan, and offers pragmatic approaches and proven strategies to help you establish and maintain a spontaneous combustion management system in your workplace. The course is delivered over six sessions:

Entry requirement:  2 years management experience in the Coal Mining Industry.

Facilitated Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Duration: 2 Days

Location: 8 Ure Court, Buderim 4556, or at your workplace*.

Entry requirement:  2 years management experience in the Coal Mining Industry.

Class size: 1-6 Persons 

On The Job - Workplace Learning

This option is available to employees of companies that have an RTO service agreement in place with Performance Training Pty Ltd.

Duration: As per the agreed Training and Assessment Strategy (TAS).

Commencement date: As Requested.

Location: At your workplace*.

Entry requirement:  Employer Authorisation to commence training.

Class size: Not Applicable 

# Students are required to complete a pre-course workbook to help them prepare for the course and help the trainer contextualise the course to meet your needs.
* Cost excludes trainer/assessor incurred travel, accommodation, expenses and or venue hire and student catering.  Credit card payments incur a 2.5% processing fee.

Interesting Fact: MDG1006 Spontaneous Combustion Management Guideline provides the following definition for spontaneous combustion; "Oxidisation of coal is a normal process and this produces heat and certain gases. (All coal oxidised). Spontaneous combustion is the process by which certain materials can ignite as a result of internal heat which arises spontaneously due to reactions liberating heat faster than it can be lost to the environment."

Prior to submitting an RPL applicaiton for this unit, Performance Training requires Candidates to familiarise themselves with both MDG 1006 - Technical Reference for spontaneous Combustion Management Guideline. and the Queensland Recognised Standard 24 Spontaneous combustion in underground coal mines.
